In this course, we will use the term “creative industries” to refer to industries that supply goods that are commonly associated with artistic, cultural, or entertainment value, such as film, music, publishing, video games, performing arts, fashion, and gourmet cuisine.
Topics introduced in this course are relevant to students pursuing a career in any of the so-defined creative industries, or seeking to advance their knowledge of strategy in the context of any challenging, rapidly changing environment.
Cases, lectures, and projects focus on established and emerging firms in a number of different creative industries. Examples include Paddle 8, IDEO, Ristorante D’O, and Metropolitan Opera. Guest speakers will join us on a number of classes in order to provide their perspective on the industry in which they work and the topics discussed during the course.
